Details: This is a wonderful Robert Hanke Austrian Royal Wettina hand painted ewer/pitcher. The pale yellow background surrounds flowers and leaves with gold embellished handle and a raised relief of the porcelain surface. It bears the maker mark of a crown over “RH” atop the words “Made in Austria.” All of the mark is in red along with the number 63. There is the number 46 in gold. Robert Hanke owned one of the first pottery factories in the Teplice area. Townwarenfabrik Robert Hanke was founded in 1882 in Ledvice and produced various luxury vases, pitchers, and porcelain objects. Bohemia was at that time part of Austria, hence the company being registered as “Robert Hanke, Austria.” This is a true piece of history and a great collector’s piece.
